Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-29

1. The service

Formatli (the "Service") is a publishing-services platform operated by [ENTITY NAME], a Delaware corporation, located at [ENTITY ADDRESS] ("we", "us"). The Service includes (a) paid book-formatting services delivering KDP-ready interior files (PDF, ePub where applicable); (b) paid cover-conversion services; and (c) free in-browser tools for KDP authors (royalty calculator, ACOS calculator, ISBN barcode generator, description formatter).

2. Your manuscript and assets

You retain all rights to the manuscript, images, and other content you upload. By using the Service you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process those materials solely to deliver the order you placed. We don't claim ownership or resell your work.

You represent that you have the rights to everything you upload, such as your own writing, public-domain works, or content you've licensed appropriately. You are responsible for resolving any copyright disputes that arise from material you supplied.

3. Payment

Prices are stated on the order page at the time you submit. We charge through Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Beta-pricing discounts, when shown, are applied automatically at checkout.

4. Delivery

Our target turnaround is 2 days after manuscript upload, but complex orders may take longer. We'll email you when your files are ready, with a token-authenticated link to download them.

5. Revisions

All orders include 3 revision submissions, ideally batched together. Each submission covers any change you need — style, layout, or structural. Additional revisions are a flat $19 each. We re-format from the updated DOCX you send rather than editing individual pages, so batching your changes into one file gets the most out of each submission — but that's a suggestion, never a rule.

If a change is larger than a typical revision — closer to a new manuscript — we'll review it and follow up rather than treat it as a single submission. And if something's our fault, we fix it free within your 3-day acceptance window without using a submission (see Refunds).

6. Refunds

See our Refund Policy for details on our satisfaction guarantee.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to upload content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or designed to harm minors. We may decline to process orders that include such content and will refund any amount paid for declined orders.

8. Limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the order giving rise to the claim.

9. Free tools

The free tools available on our site (royalty calculator, ACOS calculator, ISBN barcode generator, description formatter) are provided for informational purposes only. Outputs are estimates based on publicly available formulas and specifications and may not reflect current third-party policies, fees, or technical standards. You are responsible for verifying outputs before relying on them for publishing or financial decisions. We make no warranty as to the accuracy of any tool output.

10. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has agreed to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the Service.

11. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

12. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision is not a waiver of that right or provision.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms; the "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes apply to orders placed after the update takes effect.
